The Francis Bacon MB Foundation in Monaco has recently launched its new publication, Francis Bacon: Study for a Portrait.
The hardback book contains over 180 photographs of Bacon captured by over 60 photographers. With only 584 limited, numbered editions printed – reflecting the number of paintings by Bacon - the exclusive books each come with a signed and numbered print by the French photographer Michel Nguyen.
The photographs included are from the MB Art Collection, with the book containing many previously unseen images of the artist and his life. Alongside photographs, photographers have included anecdotes and memories of the shoots within the book, giving readers a new insight into the artist and the world in which he lived.
There are only 300 copies of Francis Bacon: Study for a Portrait available for sale via the Foundation, as well as at The Photographers’ Gallery bookshop in London and Centre Pompidou bookshop in Paris.
