The latest instalment in our Francis Bacon: First Impressions YouTube series is now live.
In each film interviewees share their initial thoughts on meeting Francis Bacon. The series is directed by Harriet Vyner and produced by the Estate of Francis Bacon in collaboration with HENI Talks.
In this interview Rose and Alex, the children of Suzy Boyt and Lucian Freud, describe their encounters with Bacon during their youth. They reflect on the long-standing close relationship between Freud and Bacon. Their recollections include memories of Muriel Belcher at the Colony Room, dining at Wheeler's restaurant, Bacon's studio at 7 Reece Mews, punk culture, Andy Warhol, and the art of painting.
